About us in brief

Coffee with heart and attitude

Coffee that also feels right

At Holy Bean, it’s not just about coffee – it’s about relationships, respect, and a deep love for the craft. Sine is a certified roaster, she judges at national championships, and has her fingers deep in modern coffee culture – and most importantly, we always put our heart into it.

We believe that the best results come from genuine collaboration. With us, you’re not a customer – you’re our coffee friend. We listen, adjust, and find tailored solutions that fit your exact needs. And we do it with efficiency, flexibility, and professionalism – without losing the personal touch.

Our approach is playful, loving, and infused with common sense. Because good coffee shouldn’t just taste fantastic – it should also feel right.

About our machines

Which machine?

The right machine for the good cup

At Holy Bean, we know that even the best specialty coffee needs the right machine to unfold all its fine nuances. That’s why we only recommend high-quality equipment – both the coffee and you who drink it deserve it.

Whether you use an automatic little barista, a manual espresso machine, or the good old filter brewer, we help you find exactly what suits your everyday life and coffee style.

And yes, we know that budget and needs must go hand in hand. That’s why we also offer leasing agreements, so you can enjoy good coffee without having to take the whole burden at once.

It’s all about balance – between taste, function, and common sense. And we’re ready to advise you all the way.

Which machine matches the need

Industry, budget, and size of your company place specific demands on the choice of machine. The most important thing is to consider how many cups of coffee your machine should be able to brew in a row without compromising quality.

Café and restaurant

When choosing an espresso machine as a café or restaurant, it’s important to consider several factors. Price and quality are crucial to ensure a durable and reliable machine that can deliver high standards. You should consider what the design means and how it matches the café’s style and space, while the number of brewed cups per day helps determine whether the machine should be small and efficient or large and high-capacity. A well-chosen espresso machine ensures a good user experience and supports the café’s operations and customer satisfaction.

About our coffees

Which coffee?

There are many considerations when choosing coffee.

Let’s be honest – everyday life just tastes a little better with good coffee in the cup. Whether you prefer the light and easy, medium-roasted classic, or if you dream of the slightly darker side, we have something that suits you perfectly.

Coffee or espresso? You decide. Our selection includes both single estate gems and well-balanced blends – and everything is of course specialty, so you get high quality every time. Nothing lukewarm here!

We’re not just passionate about taste – we’re also passionate about responsibility. That’s why several of our coffees are organic and some are Rainforest Alliance certified.

The coffee profile for businesses - we help you all the way

At Holy Bean, it’s not just about delivering coffee – it’s about sharing taste, knowledge and curiosity. Together, we find the right coffee for your café, restaurant, specialty store – whatever you and your customers prefer light elegance, classic depth or something completely different.

Single farm

If you choose coffee from single farms, you choose traceability and genuine quality. Coffee from one farm means that you get a more authentic taste profile that reflects the unique soil and climate conditions that that farm has created. In addition, you get a coffee that is carefully grown and harvested with care. It is a way of ensuring that the coffee lives up to high standards and that the entire supply chain is transparent.

About our responsibility

Thoughtful purchasing

Stand up for your customers' wishes and demands

Certifications: Check if the coffee has certifications such as Fair Trade, Rainforest Alliance, Organic, or B-Corp. But remember, certification is often a guide, and it’s important to also know the story behind the coffee.

Traceability: Choose coffee where the origin is clearly documented. This gives you insight into how the coffee is grown and whether it’s produced with consideration for both the environment and working conditions.

Support for small farms: Prefer cooperative-affiliated coffees, so the economic benefit goes to local farmers, especially women and small farmers.

Packaging: Choose coffee with packaging that can be recycled.

Producer’s values: Familiarize yourself with the producer’s or importer’s values, and prefer those who actively work for social justice, environmental protection, etc.

Which Coffee should I Choose?

It depends a lot on what kind of coffee your customers are used to. If they’re used to commodity coffee and dark roasts, go for one of our medium-roasted coffees with more body. If they’re used to specialty coffee, choose one of our light roasts with brighter, fruity, and floral notes.

We mainly roast light to preserve as many unique characteristics and notes from origin and processing as possible. For espresso, we still roast light—just a touch darker than for filter—to achieve the best taste experience, also with milk, for example. Those are the white bags. Some of our coffees do better with a medium roast, which gives more body and notes of chocolate and nuts. Those are our black bags.

At Holy Bean, we roast our coffees gently with a clear vision of how they should taste, depending on factors like origin and processing. By roasting light, we preserve as many unique flavor nuances as possible, and many will find our coffees floral and fruity. In contrast, a darker roast will often taste more burnt. Light roasting also makes it harder to “hide” defects in the coffee, whereas darker roasts more easily mask them if they’re present. In short, price, quality, and roast level usually go hand in hand.

When we receive a new coffee, we sample roast and cup it until the taste is where we want it. Only then do we roast it on our large roaster, after which we cup and taste again. We continually cup and test our coffees to ensure we keep the flavor profile we’re aiming for.
