At Holy Bean, it’s not just about delivering coffee – it’s about sharing taste, knowledge, and curiosity. Together, we’ll find the right coffee for your café, restaurant, or specialty shop – whether you and your customers prefer a specific flavor profile, traceability, or responsibility in your coffee.
If you choose coffee from single farms, you choose traceability and genuine quality. Coffee from one farm means that you get a more authentic taste profile that reflects the unique soil and climate conditions that that farm has created. In addition, you get a coffee that is carefully grown and harvested with care. It is a way of ensuring that the coffee lives up to high standards and that the entire supply chain is transparent.
Choosing single cooperative coffees from Holy Bean means that you support cooperation with small local farmers through well-organized cooperatives. This ensures better prices and fair working conditions for the very small farmers, while the coffee often has a more complex and characterful taste.
When you choose blends from farmers and cooperatives, you support cooperation with small farmers, which often ensures education and better living conditions in the very small local communities. Furthermore, our blends provide the opportunity to create harmonious and balanced taste profiles, where the coffee is composed of the best beans from different origins.
Espresso Coffees
At Holy Bean, we place great emphasis on training staff to master the art of beautiful latte art. We believe that the visual expression in a cup of coffee is not just an art form, but also a way to create a special connection between the barista and the guest. When the staff can brew and decorate with precision and creativity, it enhances the impression of quality and makes the visit more memorable.

It depends a lot on what kind of coffee your customers are used to. If they’re used to commodity coffee and dark roasts, go for one of our medium-roasted coffees with more body. If they’re used to specialty coffee, choose one of our light roasts with brighter, fruity, and floral notes.
We mainly roast light to preserve as many unique characteristics and notes from origin and processing as possible. For espresso, we still roast light—just a touch darker than for filter—to achieve the best taste experience, also with milk, for example. Those are the white bags. Some of our coffees do better with a medium roast, which gives more body and notes of chocolate and nuts. Those are our black bags.
At Holy Bean, we roast our coffees gently with a clear vision of how they should taste, depending on factors like origin and processing. By roasting light, we preserve as many unique flavor nuances as possible, and many will find our coffees floral and fruity. In contrast, a darker roast will often taste more burnt. Light roasting also makes it harder to “hide” defects in the coffee, whereas darker roasts more easily mask them if they’re present. In short, price, quality, and roast level usually go hand in hand.
When we receive a new coffee, we sample roast and cup it until the taste is where we want it. Only then do we roast it on our large roaster, after which we cup and taste again. We continually cup and test our coffees to ensure we keep the flavor profile we’re aiming for.
