Our choices
Coffee is a fantastic raw material, and we believe that choosing to buy and drink high-quality coffee has a significant impact on many people. High-quality coffee means coffee at a higher price, and thus a correspondingly higher wage for the farmers in the coffee-producing countries. Therefore, we select the finest specialty coffees. All coffees are scored based on quality, and specialty coffees are those that score the highest. Specialty ranges from 80 points up to 100 points.
Roasting
- every time
The final roasting and coffee brewing are crucial for the good taste. Roasting the coffee to perfection also means that we recognize and appreciate the coffee farmers’ great work! Therefore, we roast our coffees gently and based on a clear vision of how the coffees should taste, depending on, among other things, origin and processing. We believe in the coffee’s unique characteristics and work every day to bring out the coffee’s natural character. By roasting light, we preserve as many unique flavor nuances as possible, and many will experience our coffees as floral and fruity. In contrast, a more dark-roasted coffee will most often taste more burnt. When we roast light, it is also more difficult to “hide” flaws in the coffee, whereas a dark-roasted coffee more easily obscures the defects, if they are present in the coffee. In short, one can say that price, quality, and degree of roasting are most often linked.

Brewing pour over is an aesthetic experience, where every movement and every moment is part of the craft. The shape of the funnel and the pot itself, combined with the calmness that comes with the precise pouring, creates a visual harmony that enhances the coffee’s complex nuances.

I have chosen my La Marzocco espresso machine because it combines reliability, precision and craftsmanship – everything that is important to me in my passion for brewing the perfect cup of coffee. La Marzocco is known for its durability and ability to create a consistent extraction, which is crucial to highlight the coffee’s complex nuances.
For me, it is also about passing on the passion for quality and genuine craftsmanship, where technology supports my desire to deliver a unique coffee experience every time. And I’ll gladly drag it with me everywhere.
Inspiration
Inspiration comes from many places. At Holy Bean, we are especially inspired by the many unique characteristics and flavor notes we experience in the individual coffees. Notes that are reflected in the flavor wheel and recur in, among other things, the color of our label on the individual coffee bag. We are motivated by the coffee’s complex universe, where light, floral nuances meet deep, warm tones, and where each bean tells its own unique story.
It can also be a material that inspires. With a focus on craftsmanship and quality, as well as the light, bright materials, is some of what characterizes us the Nordic simple style, which is seen, among other things, in beautifully designed wooden furniture.
