Why this product

Many parameters play into the perfectly brewed cup of coffee, and water also plays a significant role in both taste and maintenance of your espresso machine. Water in Danish taps is, depending on where you are in the country, more or less hard, and this contributes to unnecessary wear on your machine. Sage water filter fits all our Sage machines and should be changed approximately once every three months depending on how much you use your espresso machine.

When you brew with a Sage water filter, your coffee experience becomes more “pure” while you take better care of your machine.

Which Water is Best for My Cup of Coffee?

One of the most overlooked things when we talk about the perfectly brewed cup of coffee is the water. Water is one of the most important ingredients when we brew a cup of coffee and yet we don’t think very often about the quality of our water. However, any barista will tell you what influence the quality of your water has on the taste of your coffee. That’s why there are also many coffee enthusiasts who have an opinion about water and prefer to brew coffee with spring water to achieve the best coffee taste. One of the reasons is that very hard water neutralizes many of the flavor and aroma-carrying organic acids that are especially found in light and medium roasted coffee, which is why we risk losing some of the fine nuances in coffee’s complex universe. Additionally, very hard water is just not good for your brewing equipment or coffee machines. Here at Holy Bean we have experimented quite a bit with water and in the roastery we have among other things installed a BWT filter, which ensures that lime and other impurities are filtered from our water. This way we ensure a more consistent taste experience, and the coffee taste is not disturbed by different water qualities. When we brew coffee outside the house we always bring water in containers or brew with spring water. One of the spring waters we have the best experience with is Nornir. There are many different ways to avoid lime in your water and also in relation to needs.
