Delicious and complex

A classic and well-balanced flavor profile

This espresso blend combines our carefully selected specialty coffee from the Terimbere cooperative in Kirundo region, Burundi, with our coffee from Passeio farm in Brazil. Our Brazilian coffee is characterized by its classic flavor profile with good body, well-balanced acidity, and fruity notes that perfectly complement our sweet coffee from Burundi with flavor notes of berries, grape, and honey.

A balanced coffee blend

Flavor wheel - the event coffee

A delightful espresso blend composed of specialty coffees from Brazil and Burundi. A balanced espresso with sweet marzipan aroma and flavor notes of chocolate, dried fruit, and grape followed by a smooth finish.
The coffee varieties are Arabica and Red Bourbon, grown at 1200 and 1665 masl respectively. The processing method is a combination of washed and pulped natural.

An espresso blend with responsibility

Women, community, and nature – the heart of our coffee

Both farms have made a conscious choice to work towards a more responsible way of producing coffee, regarding environmental and social responsibility. Our coffee beans from Burundi are brought to the Gasura washing station from 400 different small coffee farmers living in various locations in the mountains. They are organized by the Terimbere cooperative, which means “let’s move forward”. And we must say, they do so with a strong focus on involving women in everything from running the coffee plantation to harvesting to developing the local community.

Looking at our coffee from Passeio farm in the southern part of Minas Gerais region in Brazil, it not only focuses on growing quality coffee but also on preserving the surrounding nature. Today, 130 hectares are dedicated to coffee production, and the coffee is hand-picked, which is rare for Brazilian coffee.

Method and people go hand in hand

Coffee processed with respect for both taste and people

A balanced cup with sweetness and social responsibility

The processing method for this coffee is pulped natural. Pulped natural or honey processing, as it’s also called, is a processing method between natural and washed. In pulped natural, the outer layers of the coffee cherry are removed, and the coffee bean dries with only the innermost layer (mucilage) from the coffee cherry. It dries directly in the sun for just a few days. Afterward, the beans are placed in the mechanical dryer before finally resting for 45-60 days before any defects are sorted out and it’s ready for export. This processing method produces a clean and mild cup of coffee with a characteristic sweetness.

It’s precisely because of the high quality, their focus on social responsibility, and sustainable development benefiting both employees and the environment that we have selected this specialty coffee.
