Soft, fruity and a beautiful interplay

Flavor wheel - caramel and peach

The coffee comes from the organic cooperative Comsa in the Marcala region of Honduras. It is washed, which contributes to a clear and clean mouthfeel. In the cup you will find a soft, fruity profile with a fine interplay between acidity and sweetness. The taste notes move in the direction of ripe peach and lightly caramelized nuances.

In respect for nature

An organic cup with balance in both soil and taste

The coffee from the Comsa cooperative in Honduras is grown organically with great respect for the environment. The production is based on creating a healthier balance between soil and crops – including through the use of shade trees, which protect both plants and biodiversity.

A cooperative with a promising future

Winner of Cup of Excellence

A progressive approach to the development of organic coffee

Back in 2001, a group of committed coffee producers joined forces to create something bigger. 69 members founded the COMSA cooperative – Café Orgánico Marcala S.A. – with a common vision: to focus on organic coffee cultivation rather than conventional methods. Since then, COMSA has made its mark as a cooperative with great curiosity and an experimental approach to sustainable cultivation methods, always with respect for the local ecosystem. The Marcala region in the Montecillos mountains, located 1200–1700 meters above sea level, is known for its quality, and many coffees from here have achieved international recognition, including in the Cup of Excellence.

With respect for the local community

Education and guidance for local coffee farmers

Better quality ensures better payment for the coffee beans

At Holy Bean, we always prioritize specialty coffees of the highest quality. We know that a higher quality means a better price for the farmers for their green coffee. Therefore, it is important that local farmers continuously have access to updated knowledge and training so that they can keep up with developments in coffee production and thus deliver products of the highest standard.

The belief in quality

The best coffee experience is created by the best raw materials

The coffees with us all score between 80 and 100 points

Coffee is a unique raw material, and we believe that the choice of quality coffee has a major impact on both the taste experience and the people behind the beans. High quality coffee often means a better price, which ensures a fairer wage for the coffee farmers who grow it. Therefore, we only select the finest specialty coffees. Specialty coffees are rated on a scale from 80 to 100 points, and only a few reach over 90 points – the exclusive group that can participate in the Cup of Excellence. Our coffee from Comsa has proudly achieved this recognition several times.
