Colombia is among one of the world’s most recognized coffee countries, and the Huila region is the largest coffee-producing part of the country. Here some of Colombia’s best coffee is grown – not least in the lush and mountainous areas in the southwestern part. This is also where we get our Colombia Huila coffee, which grows at 1800-1900 meters altitude and is processed using the washed method, which contributes to a clean and elegant flavor profile.
Where does the coffee sit on the flavor wheel?
Our coffee from Huila in Colombia is characterized by being a pleasant coffee with a mild aroma. The coffee is slightly fruity and has flavor notes of dark caramel.
The coffee is medium roasted in our micro roastery on West Funen, which gives a classic flavor profile with good body and depth. The washed processing highlights the acidic and clean notes, making the coffee both balanced and lively.
Colombia Huila coffee is also part of our espresso blend Tommelise, where its characteristic flavor contributes freshness and complexity.
Colombia known for its coffee
There are not many coffee-producing countries that are more popular than Colombia, and the Huila region is the country’s largest coffee producer. A beautiful and mountainous area in the southwestern part of Colombia. Huila is characterized by producing really good coffee and winner lots are regularly produced in the Cup of Excellence competition from precisely this area.
The coffee comes from premium quality grades, which typically rank above average coffee from the supermarket, but just below the most exclusive specialty coffees. Premium coffee is often sold in specialty stores and wine shops – and this is where Holy Bean places its focus.
We use exclusively 100% natural ingredients and believe in good craftsmanship all the way from the farm to the finished cup. All our coffees are roasted by our certified roaster Sine Klejs Gren – one of the few female certified roasters in Denmark. Sine’s approach is characterized by insight, curiosity and great respect for coffee’s complexity.
