With knitwear from Coffee Beanies, we’re helping to create even better living conditions for female coffee farmers in Burundi and Rwanda. The headbands help create a good supplement and a more long-term income, as coffee production is often seasonal. The female African coffee farmers have been trained to hand-knit sustainable beanies and headbands based on a slow fashion principle, and for each knitted beanie, their weekly income doubles. The idea behind the project is to help some of the world’s poorest people help themselves, and we think that’s a good idea. So every time you buy a Coffee Beanies beanie, headband, or higher quality coffee, you’re helping to make a difference for local coffee farmers.
The items are handmade in a super nice quality alpaca wool blend and 18% polyamide, which has recently been recycled.
